RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the Duke Davis Water Feature Renovation Project and authorize staff to call for bids.
|
BACKGROUND
Location
The renovation site is at the Duke Davis Park on Northpark Drive at the existing play area.
Background
The Duke Davis Water Feature Renovation Project will replace an existing water and sand play area with a new misting water feature. The existing water play feature is non-functioning and was an inefficient use of water. The project will convert an existing sand play area into a new misting water play feature. The scope of work will also include permanent disabling of the existing water play feature.
Schedule
Once bids are received and opened, staff plans to return to Council in early 2024 for contract award.
|
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of the project is estimated at $138,000. Funding for this project has been approved using the bond refunding savings in the Diamond Creek Community Facilities District No. 1 Fund. No change in maintenance costs are expected.
|
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The proposed project involves the replacement of existing structures and facilities. This activity is categorically exempt from CEQA as a Class 2 Exemption (State CEQA Guidelines Section 15302). The Exemption has been prepared and no further CEQA action is required.
